As the largest and most significant ICT and electronics events in Vietnam, The 12th International Exhibition in Vietnam on Telecommunications and Information Technology (also known as "Vietnam Telecomp 2008") and the International Exhibition in Vietnam on Electronics Products 2008 (also known as "Vietnam Electronics 2008") closed with resounding success at HoChiMinh City International Exhibition and Convention Center (HIECC). Officially sponsored by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and co-organized by the Vietnam Posts & Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd (Adsale), the twin expos attracted 18,359 trade visitors to the 4-day show to experience the latest technology, products and services brought about by around 200 exhibitors from 17 countries / regions.
Vietnam Telecomp & Vietnam Electronics 2008 received extensive support from the Government and both overseas and local Ministries and industry associations. Numerous key representatives attended the expos and symposia, including Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Vice Minister of MIC; Mr. Nguyen Trung Tin, Vice Standing Chairman of HCMC People's Committee; Mr. Pham Long Tran, Acting BOM Chairman of VNPT; Mr. Vu Tuan Hung, President and CEO of VNPT together with Ministers and government officials from Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, which reflected the authoritative status of the twin expos in Vietnam ICT and electronics industries as well as their positive impact to neighboring countries.
Sponsorship from numerous international renowned operators and corporations also raised the image as well as professionalism of the twin expos. What's more, the presence of China, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand pavilions undoubtedly enhance the international content of the shows. The organizers were honored to receive support from CCPIT Electronics and Information Industry Sub-Council, China PTAC Communications Services Co., Ltd., Korea IT Business Women's Association (KIBWA), Singapore Industrial Automation Association (SIAA), Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA) and Software Industry Promotion Agency (Public Organization) from Thailand, which brought a big group of notable enterprises, demonstrated quality products and services as well as innovative ideas during the events.
In the twin expos, 3G, Wimax and satellite communications were spotlighted. Exhibitors tried vast methods including interactive display, life demonstration, quiz and games to illustrate the advanced concept and gained attention from the visitors, for instance, Satellite DMB, MelOn music service and m-Finance of SK Telecom, "touch and feel" 3G service of Orange France Telecom, digital mobile communication service " i-mode" of NTT DOCOMO and many other innovative solutions and products included HSPA, WiFi, Internet, Broadband, Mobile Digital Entertainment, IPTV, Mobile Phones, Personal Digital Devices, Enterprise Solutions, Communications Network, Management Software & System, Information Security, Mobile Value-Added Services, WAP and many more.
To recognize the effort of the exhibitors, who contributed to the continuous growth of the industry and their outstanding performance in the twin expos, various awards were presented during the Opening Banquet. Awards of Appreciation were given to EVN Telecom, Mobifone, Vinaphone, VNPT and VTI; The Awards of Best Booth Design were given to Alcatel-Lucent, EVN Telecom and Huawei while the Awards of Most Interactive Booth were given to Orange France Telecom, VNPT and ZTE. Last but not the least, Mobifone, Nokia Siemens Networks and NTT DOCOMO won the Press Favorite Awards.
On the other hand, the concurrent symposia provided an effective platform for industry professionals not only to grasp the latest market update and share business development experience, but also to build network with potential business partners. The symposia were well attended by over 350 audiences, theme topic concerned the future roadmap of Vietnam ICT market was presented. After that was the discussion on various ICT hottest topics such as 3G - Network and Service Deployment, WiMax, Broadband, E-Entertainment & Multimedia, Wireless & Satellite Communications, Managed Services, Broadband & Next Generation Network, etc. What's more, the concurrent conference on "3G Services and Network Evolution with TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE Standard" further enhanced technology and service deployment experience exchange among industry professionals. The organizers were honoured to receive active participation from related regulators, operators and enterprises, etc.
To maximize the participation effectiveness of the exhibitors, the organizers provided business consultancy service at the fairground, which was much welcomed and utilized by the exhibitors. In fact, over 80% of exhibitors were satisfied with the visitors brought from the expos in terms of both the traffic and quality and recognized the twin expos as an effective platform to get business contacts and orders and 92% of exhibitors indicated that they will participate or consider participation in the next show.
For visitors, 82% of them indicated that they achieved the objectives of visiting the twin expos, which included to meet suppliers and potential buyers, gather overseas product information and latest information of telecom/ electronic industry and selected here were two compliments from local and overseas visitors about the twin expos:
"The show is above my expectation. I visit the show to look for hardware for company system, software for management and develop personal network with related suppliers. Lastly, the organizing team of Vietnam Telecomp & Vietnam Electronics announced the 2nd edition of Vietnam International Communications Summit & Expo, also known as "Vietnam Comm 2009" will be held during November 18 - 21, 2009 at Vietnam Exhibition & Fair Centre, Hanoi, SR Vietnam.
